Additional details about my commissioned works:

Types of commissions I do
: I accept commissions for many sizes, formats, and subjects: portraits,
florals, and landscapes of a cherished spot are typical commissioned subjects. I accept commissions for watercolors as well as oils on canvas and the occasional charcoal sketch.

What to expect about the work process:
When a client inquires about a commission,  I work
up black and white or color thumbnail sketches based on their descriptions, my own photography and
imagination, or in some instances, my client’s photography. These sketches are free of charge and come
with no obligation on your part to pursue a project. They will include sizes, a time estimate, and a firm
quote. (They do not include new reference photography by me.)

If we decide to proceed, a 20% deposit is required to begin work. (In the case of portraits or other parti-
cular subject matter, a larger deposit may be requested). If desired, an email with photos of the work in
progress may be given to you to show you how the work is coming along. When the painting is finished,
photos will be sent and/or a meeting arranged for approval, and the remainder of the payment will be due
(in the case of out-of-town customers, 30% of the balance may be witheld by the client in order to
receive the painting by insured priority mail and approve it before sending the balance due).

Photography for Paintings:
I am available in the North Atlanta area to arrange meetings or sit-
tings from which sketches and my own reference photos may be made. A sitting fee of $50.00 per hour
plus compensation for travel time will be needed up front. All photos will be available to the client
upon request.

Pricing: The following prices are a general guideline, and will be a rough basis for the quote you will
receive when you request thumbnail sketches for a project. Prices may be modified somewhat upward or
downward depending on subject matter. It is possible that some subjects which are not within my area
of expertise may be declined altogether. Special sizes and formats are possible (call for a quote). These prices do not reflect any applicable agent or gallery fees.

I do accept commissions of all sizes and types: I love rising to the challenge of interpreting a client's vision with a scene from my own or my clien'ts photography. Please note that I cannot work from photos that have been found on the internet, as copyright law and artistic integrity dictate that work by other artists or photographers be respected. How do you know whether you want an original? If you love the feeling of having an item which was made by a person and not a sweatshop worker or a printer, you might want to commission an original; the same is true if you love having an item which is utterly unique. If you want an interpretation which is personal and different from others', not just a reproduction of what you see in a photograph, you're a great potential patron of the arts! In fact, if what you don't want is something which looks like a photo, you're an artist's dream come true! It's easy and not excessively expensive to commission my fine art: just email me with your idea, I'll send you a free sketch or sketches with some ideas, and if we proceed you can send a small down payment to start work. The entire process takes between 4 and 10 weeks, depending on my work load. I send several photos of the work in progress, and don't request the bulk of the payment until the painting is done and you have approved it for shipment. (An exception to this policy is a very personalized subject such as a portrait) If you wish, you can use the ebay or etsy store format to order a commissioned piece: if a suitable size painting is not currently listed, just let me know and I'll give you a quote and put it on ebay or etsy.

Also, just let me know and I can give you a list of references in regard to my commission work.

Thanks for your interest and for supporting the fine arts in the United States! It's heartening that there are art lovers out there who want a unique and collectible painting to hang in their home
!
