Giclee Prints, Limited Editions
What is a giclee print?
A giclee ("zhee-clay" ) is an
archivally sound fine art reproduction--a print. Instead of the traditional four-color offset lithography which has been the standard in photographic reproductions for decades, this new process gives finer detail and much better color than the typical lithograph. The specialized printing process sprays the inks on the paper, alllowing the ink to soak into the fiber of the paper (which is actually an approximately 90 lb. archival watercolor paper with a bit of texture). This characteristic of a giclee lends it a character much more faithful to the original. The inks do not sit on the surface of the paper, and they are not shiny. Yet the matte finish does not sacrifice the intensity of the colors; on the contrary, the saturation of the colors in these prints and their faithfulness to the original has pleased me immensely, and that's saying a lot, coming from the artist!
What is their availability?  Orders will normally take 3 weeks to process, and an additional 3-5 days for shipping. Occasionally some stock will be on hand, and immediate shipping will be possible. Of course, you may find out which is the case before you buy. And you will not be required to pay until the print has come to me from the printer.
Are they signed and numbered? Yes, all of the prints I sell will be signed and numbered.  Some of the edition may be sold through a gallery I use and may or may not be signed, but the total of all prints sold of any given painting will not exceed the edition size, no matter what.  Since these prints are produced one at a time, you may request that they be signed in one of two places, depending on whether you want to frame the artwork with or without the white border: either in the traditional place just below the image, or just below my signature on the print itself.

How do I order? Either email me at susan@susankennedy.com or fill out the online order form on your print's page and I will con-firm your order before proceeding. Some of the larger sizes are very expensive to produce and require a deposit of $100 or more. When your print is ready to ship, I will invoice you for payment (or the balance of the pay-ment) and will ship when your payment is received. Priority mail shipping and insurance is included in the print prices, and they are shipped in a mailing tube to best protect them. Be sure to instruct your framer that these prints are as susceptible to water damage
as a watercolor. Although the colors are lightfast, they will run if moistened.
