| Both Susan's "Watercolor Inspiration" book and its excerpts (on the right), the Orchid and Rhododendron chapters, contain many color photos of Susan's step by step watercolor paintings as they progress. Susan's watercolor painting instruction in this material constists of an introduction, a discussion of watercolor materials, and 12 watercolor demonstrations which break down Susan's process as she approches a floral or landscape subject in watercolor. Susan's ebook is not so much watercolor lessons as it is technical advice on achieving particular colors, layers, and effects in watercolor realism. To learn watercolor is to take the process of painting and break it down into layers and steps, and this watercolor instruction book (or rather watercolor instruction ebook) is a look at how a watercolor realist approaches the technical challenges of painting.
