| Susan's watercolor paintings are done on fine quality archival watercolor papers and boards using paints with the highest permanence rating. They are intended as permanent works of art which will last for many generations when framed under glass (hopefully UV filtering) with a dust cover glued to the back. Be sure to frame your painting within a year or so of receiving it; and make sure that whether it's framed yet or not, it is stored protected in a dry place. Ask your framer to use acid-free backing material, mats, and hinges (mounting tape). Amazingly, even papers which are only a few years old will be permanently stained yellow or brown by acidic materials or tapes. You can do the framing yourself with mats, tapes, and frames from an art and craft shop, but be sure to use archival quality materials: look for the words "acid-free!" Your painting will arrive safely packed with cardboard backing, an acid-free paper backing between the painting and the cardboard, and an archival quality plastic cover which will all serve to keep your painting safe until framing. I use priority mail shipping, and I will refund your money if there is any damage or loss in shipping. I ship twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays, and I will let you know when your painting ships. Likewise, please let me know when your painting arrives so I can stop worrying! |
