Painting a Central Park Scene and loving watercolor - Oil Painting Classes, too!!!
Well, it's kindof nice to try to forget the crazy news on the radio and tv and paint for a while...kindof strange, too, that the financial district just a mile or two from this peaceful place is a madhouse right about now. Sigh. I'm glad I didn't have much money to lose!
Art is a refuge in all kinds of circumstances, and I like to think of it as a language, like music. This particular painting, of the statues at the southernmost end, is describing the beauty of human culture and activity, as it is lit up with golden light from the setting sun. I hope it is a peaceful and a beautiful statement! If you want to see the auction, just click on the photo to see it.
AND...I'm a teacher now! Those who cannot sell, teach, I guess... and that's going to be my strategy for this coming year. I'm looking forward to painting together with artists and aspiring artists in the Atlanta area, so if you're looking for Oil Painting Lessons, check my classes out at the Cumming Hobby Lobby! We'll be covering technique and compositional strategies, kindof an alla prima style with just a teeny bit of underpainting! Email me if you have any questions, or click on my "about me" page (see the link below) to see my website and more information about my art and painting instruction.
Blessings to you all, and thank you so much for your interest, your support of the arts, and your kindness! Yours, Susan
