For the baby sizes of this hat you’ll want to use a size H aluminum crochet hook (5.00 mm) and a light/baby/”sport” weight yarn (you’ll see number 3 on the yarn label for these light weights). The hat will use only 2-3 ounces of lightweight yarn.

For the crochet rose decoration you’ll use the same yarn, (less than an ounce) and you’ll reduce your hook size to an F or G. (3.75 or 4.0 mm)
