This original acrylic on hardboard panel, “Study: The Sound of Crickets,” is a small painting I did late in 2023. I was enjoying laying down many layers of semi-transparent color and doodling on top of them with my beloved acrylic paint pens. This one ended up looking like a view of my woods, and I tried to make it remind me of the sharp beautiful colors of morning, when the crickets are still singing.

The watermark on the painting is text which, of course, does not appear on the painting.
