a view of sparkling color, with gold and orange specks of color on a shimmering plum and blue background

“Leap of Faith,” Acrylic on Gallery Wrap canvas, 36”H x 24” W artist Susan D. Kennedy

This is a painting I just finished in February 2023, and it was inspired by the feeling of glittering water with shadows and spots of glowing color….subjects like this always remind me of heaven, and I like to paint them thinking that heaven is peeking through all the little gaps and spaces, and that God is smiling down on all with his care and protection. It measures 36” high by 24” wide and the sides are 1 3/8” deep, painted black. It is done in acrylic on gallery wrap canvas, no need to frame. The watermark you see, of course, is not on the actual painting : ) It is listed for sale on eBay.

“Rain at Dusk, Chatsworth” Framed Acrylic on standard canvas, 24” high x 36” wide not including frame
This was one of several paintings I did of evening traffic in Chatsworth, Georgia on Highway 76. I was obsessed for a while with painting the colors and reflections of traffic on the highway, with the mountains in the background and the traffic lights and mysterious shapes all around. The watermark you see, of course, is not on the actual painting : ) It is listed for sale on eBay.

“Chatsworth Moonrise”, Framed Acrylic on standard canvas, 24” high x 48” wide not including frame
This another one of my paintings of traffic in Chatsworth, Georgia on Highway 76. I was struck by the amazing scene of the creamy pale yellow moon rising as the sun set on the opposite side of the sky behind me. The reflections, sky colors, signs, lights and trees were magical to me and begged to be painted. The watermark you see, of course, is not on the actual painting : ) It is listed for sale on eBay.

This painting is unfinished, it’s one of the last and largest of the Chatsworth paintings. I wanted more color and boldness, and am not sure that I’m going to do much more with it. It’s not listed for sale yet, and it’s on unstretched canvas. I had in mind hanging it from a dowel or something like that. : )

“Daytime Carnival,” Acrylic on Masonite, 8’ x 10” It’s quite bright, with glossy varnish, and I hope that the joy in painting it comes through. The watermark you see, of course, is not on the actual painting : ) It is listed for sale on eBay.

“Study: Broken Sunrise,” 5”x7”, Acrylic on Masonite (unframed) I wanted to come up with an idea for an abstracted sunrise and hope to make a larger version soon. This painting is currently on ebay. The watermark of text that you see, of course, is not on the actual painting.

“Study: Still Asleep,” Acrylic on Masonite, 16” H x 12” W. This painting is a little meditation about morning and twigs and brush seen from the point of view of a sleepy little chipmunk. I wanted to paint it so impressionistically as to almost qualify as abstract. The little watermark text you see on the image is not, of course, on the actual painting. It is for sale on ebay, and you can see it here.

“Study: Sacred Shards,” Set of two 5”x 7” acrylic paintings on board, These are intended to remind the viewer both of a landscape or cityscape and a stained glass window. I hope to paint the scene larger some day (this is one of a handful of studies I’ve done this past week. The set is listed for sale on ebay and you can see it here. The watermark of text you see on the image is not, of course, on the actual paintings.
